Expressing "every" with 每

Use 每 (měi) to mean "every" or "each." It is almost always followed by a measure word and the adverb 都 (dōu) in the sentence. Some time words like 天, 年, and 周 serve as their own measure words, so no extra measure word is needed.

Structure

每 + Measure Word + Noun + 都
每 + Time Word + 都
Time words like 天, 年, 周 act as measure words, so 个 is not used.
