鬼节 (Ghost Festival) is a traditional Chinese festival on the 15th night of the 7th lunar month, also called 中元节. It's believed that the gates of the underworld open, allowing ghosts and ancestors to visit the living. People offer food, burn incense and paper money to honor the dead and appease wandering spirits. The festival is observed with both solemn rituals and community celebrations.
