高宗 is a temple name (庙号) given to Chinese emperors after death. The most famous 高宗 is the Qianlong Emperor of the Qing dynasty (reigned 1735–1796). Other historical figures, such as Emperor Gaozong of the Tang dynasty, also share this temple name.
