高发在现代汉语中常作动词性短语，表示疾病、犯罪、事故等负面事件频繁发生，比如‘高血压高发’、‘犯罪高发’。在历史语境中，它也曾指科举考试考中，但这一用法今天极少使用。使用时注意主语通常是某种问题或现象，后面直接跟地点或人群时需加‘的’（如‘高发地区’）。
