Definition
高于 means 'higher than' in comparisons — used for measurable things like scores, prices, or speed. Its opposite is 低于 (dī yú 'lower than'). While 超过 (chāo guò) also means 'exceed', 高于 is more formal and usually appears in written comparisons of numbers or levels.
