Definition
验血 is a verb-object compound (离合词) meaning 'to have a blood test' or 'to draw blood for testing'. The verb 验 ('to test') and the object 血 ('blood') can separate when you add aspect markers, measure words, or durations between them — for example, 验了血 ('had a blood test done') or 验过一次血 ('had a blood test once'). You cannot put a direct object after 验血; instead, say 给我验血 ('draw my blood for testing').
