Definition
飞 (fēi) is the basic, everyday verb for 'to fly' — birds, planes, even people in dreams. It's simpler and more casual than 飞行 (fēixíng), which is formal and refers to the act of flight by aircraft or birds. For flying a kite, use 放 (fàng) instead of 飞.
