Definition
非得 means 'absolutely have to' and is used in the emphatic construction 非得...不可/不行/不成, conveying that something is unavoidable or strongly insisted on. It is stronger than 得 (děi, spoken 'have to') and more emphatic than the formal 必须 ('must'). Unlike 不得不 ('have no choice but to'), 非得 often implies personal insistence or necessity, not just external pressure.
