Definition
The Azure Dragon (青龙) is one of the Four Symbols (四象) in Chinese mythology, representing the east and spring. In Taoist cosmology it is a guardian spirit of the east, often depicted alongside the White Tiger, Vermilion Bird, and Black Tortoise. The term also appears in place names, martial arts, and modern pop culture, always carrying the mythological weight.
