Definition
露脸 is a separable verb (离合词) that literally means 'to show one's face' — to appear in public or online. Figuratively, it means 'to bring credit to' or 'to win honor for' someone or something, as in 'you did us proud'. When splitting, the verb 露 and the object 脸 can separate with aspect markers or measure words: 露了一次脸 ('showed up once'), 露了脸 ('showed up / brought credit'). The object 脸 takes no other noun; the person you honor is introduced with 给 or 为.
