Definition
露底 is a separable verb (离合词) meaning 'to reveal the inside story' or 'to let a secret slip'. The verb 露 and the object 底 can separate to insert time, measure words, or aspect markers: e.g. 露了底 ('exposed the secret'), 露过一次底 ('revealed the secret once'). You can also add a modifier before 底, like 露了老底 ('exposed someone's background').
