Definition
降落 (jiàng luò) is the standard verb for aircraft landing and for natural descent (snow, temperature). It is broader than 降 (jiàng), which is used more for drops in temperature, prices, or altitude, and more formal than 落地 (luò dì), which emphasizes the moment of touching the ground (often for aircraft). Use 降落 when you need a neutral, all-purpose word for descending or landing.
