Definition
闲杂 is an attributive adjective (属性词) that almost always appears before 人员, 人等, or similar nouns to refer to people without fixed duties — usually outsiders or non-essential personnel. The phrase often carries a slightly dismissive or official tone: 闲杂人员 are the people who shouldn't be there. You'll hear it in warning signs (闲人勿入) and rules (禁止闲杂人等入内).
