Definition
镳 is a bound form (b.f.) meaning 'bridle bit'. It does not appear alone in modern Chinese; its only common usage is in the chengyu 分道扬镳 (fēn dào yáng biāo), which literally means 'to part ways and go separate paths' and is used metaphorically for people going their separate ways. You will rarely encounter 镳 outside this idiom.
