Definition
错觉 (cuò jué) is a mistaken perception or belief — a sensory illusion or cognitive error based on real stimuli. It differs from 幻觉 (huàn jué, hallucination), which is perceiving something that isn't there, and from 误区 (wù qū), which is a widely held but flawed idea in reasoning, not perception.
