Definition
里程碑式 is an attributive adjective meaning 'of milestone significance' or 'landmark'. It is used before nouns like 事件 (event), 会议 (conference), or 成就 (achievement) to describe something that marks a turning point or historic advance. This is a formal compound, common in journalism, official statements, and academic writing. Unlike the English 'milestone', which can be used as a standalone noun or adjective, 里程碑式 must always precede the noun it modifies and cannot be used as a predicate.
