遇险 (yù xiǎn) means 'to encounter danger' — it specifically refers to facing a dangerous situation (险), not necessarily death. 遇难 (yù nàn) is stronger: it means to die in an accident or disaster. 遭遇 (zāo yù) is a more general verb for encountering something negative (e.g. difficulties, setbacks), not limited to immediate danger.
