Definition
逮捕 (dài bǔ) is the formal legal term for 'to arrest' — used by police/authorities with legal procedures. It is more official than 抓 (zhuā, 'to grab/arrest' in everyday speech) and 逮 (dǎi, 'to catch' physically). Unlike 扣留 (kòu liú, 'to detain' temporarily), 逮捕 implies formal charges and custody.
