通婚 is a separable verb (离合词) meaning 'to intermarry' or 'to become related by marriage' — typically between families, clans, or ethnic groups rather than individuals (for individuals, use 结婚). The noun 婚 can split off from 通 when inserting aspect markers or measure words: e.g., 通了一次婚 ('intermarried once'). You can specify the other party with 和 or 与: 和另一个家族通婚.
