追逐 (zhuīzhú) means 'to chase or pursue' and is more intense and determined than 追 (zhuī), often implying a sustained effort to catch or achieve something. Unlike 追求 (zhuīqiú), which is used for abstract goals or romantic courtship, 追逐 can be physical (chasing a person) or figurative (pursuing fame). It is stronger than 追赶 (zhuīgǎn), which emphasizes catching up or overtaking.
