Definition
连接 (lián jiē) means 'to connect, link, or join' — it's the general verb for physically or technically connecting things (cables, devices, cities). It differs from 联系 (lián xì), which is about contacting people or linking ideas, and from 结合 (jié hé), which means combining into a unified whole. Unlike the stative 相连 (xiāng lián, 'to be connected'), 连接 is an action verb.
