Definition
连忙 emphasizes acting promptly in direct response to a specific event or situation. It differs from 马上 and 立刻, which simply mean "immediately" in time without that cause; it also contrasts with 赶快 and 赶紧, which imply urgency or hurrying. Use 连忙 when the action is triggered by what just happened.
