Definition
违心 is a separable verb (离合词) meaning 'to act against one's conscience or true feelings'. It is often used attributively (违心的话 'words against one's will') or adverbially (违心地做 'to do against one's conscience'). As a verb-object structure, it can split: elements like 了, 过, or measure words can insert between 违 and 心, e.g. 违了心 'went against one's conscience'.
