还账 is a separable verb (离合词) meaning 'to pay off a debt' or 'to settle an account'. The verb 还 (huán) can be separated from the object 账 (zhàng) by inserting aspect markers like 了, 过, or result complements like 完, 清, e.g., 还了账 ('paid the debt'), 还完账 ('finished paying the debt'). You cannot put a direct object after 还账; instead, specify the debt or person with 把 or 给.
