Definition
迎 (yíng) means 'to welcome' or 'to face' someone or something, often with a sense of moving toward them. Unlike 欢迎 (huānyíng), which is a warm, enthusiastic welcome, 迎 is more neutral and can also mean 'to meet head-on' (e.g., 迎风 'face the wind'). In the sense of 'forge ahead', it's more concrete than 前进 (qiánjìn), which is purely about advancing.
