Definition
较量 (jiào liàng) means to compete with or measure oneself against someone, often in a direct contest of skill or strength (e.g., sports, chess). It is more general and colloquial than 竞赛 (formal race/competition) and less focused on vying for a prize than 角逐 (contend for a title). Its secondary meaning 'to haggle' overlaps with 计较, but 计较 is the more common word for quibbling over details.
