Definition
转化 (zhuǎnhuà) means 'to transform, to convert' and focuses on a change in nature, essence, or state — often gradual or chemical. It is more abstract than 转变 (zhuǎnbiàn 'a shift in condition or opinion') and 转换 (zhuǎnhuàn 'to switch between forms or systems'), and less structural than 转型 (zhuǎnxíng 'fundamental change in model/system').
