Definition
跌落 is a formal, written verb meaning "to fall (from a height)" or "to drop (in value/status)". It is more literary than 掉 or 落下, and is often used in news, reports, or literary contexts for physical falls (e.g. 跌落悬崖) or abstract declines (e.g. 地位跌落, 价格跌落). The verb is typically intransitive but can take a location as a direct object (跌落悬崖); more commonly it is used with 从 or 从...中.
