Definition
走散 is a resultative verb compound (补语结构): 走 (walk) + 散 (scatter) = to get separated while walking. You use it when a crowd disperses or when you lose contact with a walking companion. It is intransitive and often appears with 了 to mark the separation, or with 别/不要 to warn against getting separated.
