Definition
赊账 is a verb-object compound (离合词) meaning 'to buy or sell on credit' or 'to have an outstanding account'. The verb 赊 ('to extend credit') and the noun 账 ('account') can be separated when inserting aspect markers, measure words, or durations — for example, 赊了三个月的账 ('had an outstanding account for three months'). You use it when a seller allows payment at a later date, or when a buyer delays payment.
