Definition
资本 (zīběn) is the economic term for 'capital' as a factor of production (money, equipment, assets used to generate wealth). It is distinct from 资金 (zījīn), which refers to 'funds' or liquid money available for a specific purpose, and from 本钱 (běnqián), which is everyday spoken 'capital' for starting a business. Do not confuse it with 首都 (shǒudū), which means 'capital city'.
