败坏 (bài huài) means 'to ruin, corrupt, or undermine' abstract things like reputation, morals, discipline, or atmosphere. Unlike 堕落 (duò luò), which describes a person's moral decline, 败坏 is used as a verb to actively damage something, or as an adjective meaning 'corrupt/depraved'. It differs from 腐败 (fǔ bài), which refers to systemic corruption or organic rot.
