财神 (Cáishén) is the Chinese god of wealth, a central figure in folk religion and business culture. Worship of 财神 is especially prominent during the Lunar New Year, when people display his image or offer incense to attract prosperity. The term can also be used colloquially to describe someone who is extremely wealthy, like a 'moneybags' figure.
