Definition
貉 (háo) is a bound morpheme meaning 'raccoon dog', almost always appearing in the compound 貉子 (háozi). It has a separate pronunciation hé used only in the idiom 一丘之貉 (yì qiū zhī hé, 'jackals from the same lair'—all bad people of the same ilk). As a bound form, 貉 cannot stand alone in modern Chinese.
