Definition
调焦 is a verb-object compound literally meaning 'adjust focus'. As a separable verb (离合词), when you need to add a measure word, duration, result, or aspect marker, the syllables split: 调 + (了/过/数量/补语) + 焦. For example, 调了三次焦 means 'adjusted focus three times'. You cannot place an object after 调焦; any additional information goes between the two syllables.
