Definition
说梦话 is a separable verb (离合词) meaning 'to talk in one's sleep.' It can also be used figuratively to mean 'to talk nonsense' or 'to talk irresponsibly.' The verb part 说 can be separated from the object 梦话, allowing measure words or modifiers to be inserted — for example, 说了几句梦话 ('said a few sleep-talking phrases') or 说了一晚上的梦话 ('talked in one's sleep all night'). You cannot place a direct object after the whole word; instead, split the verb and object.
