Definition
诞 is a bound form (b.f.) that only appears as part of compounds. Its two main meanings are 'birth' (in 诞生 'be born', 诞辰 'birthday') and 'absurd/fantastic' (in 荒诞 'absurd'). You cannot use 诞 alone as a word; it always combines with another character.
