Definition
识趣 describes the ability to read a social situation and act in a way that avoids causing trouble or embarrassment. It often appears in suggestions (⋯识趣一点) or negative evaluations (不识趣). A person who is 识趣 knows when to back off, stop joking, or leave without being told. It's a modest compliment or a gentle reproach — context matters.
