Definition
让座 is a separable verb (离合词) meaning to offer one's seat to someone. The most common use is giving up your seat on public transport to someone who needs it more (elderly, pregnant, disabled). You can split it: 让了一个座 (gave up one seat), 让过一次座 (gave up a seat once). It can also mean to invite or show a guest to a seat, as in a formal setting. The person receiving the seat is introduced with 给 or 把.
