Definition
解渴 (jiě kě) literally means 'relieve thirst' and is used only for quenching physical thirst with a drink. Its sibling 渴望 (kě wàng) shares the character 渴 but means 'to long for' something abstract (e.g., success, freedom) — they are not synonyms despite the visual overlap.
