Definition
解冻 is a separable verb (离合词) that can split — you can insert aspect markers or measure words between 解 and 冻, e.g. 解了冻 ('thawed out'), 解过几次冻 ('unfrozen several times'). It has three related meanings: literally thawing ice or frozen food; financially unfreezing funds/assets; and easing political tensions or restrictions.
