Definition
见世面 means 'to see the world' or 'to gain life experience'. It is a separable verb (离合词): the object 世面 can be modified or quantified between 见 and 世面, e.g. 见过大世面 ('have seen a lot of the world'). You can also insert aspect markers or complements: 见了世面, 见过世面. The verb 见 carries the action; 世面 is the object meaning 'the world / society'. It's often used to describe someone who has broadened their horizons through travel or exposure to different situations.
