Definition
被子 (bèi zi) is a quilt — a thick, padded bed covering filled with cotton or synthetic fiber, often used with a removable cover (被套). It differs from 毯子 (tǎn zi, blanket), which is a single-layer covering (e.g., wool or fleece) and uses the measure word 条 instead of 床.
