Definition
行商 (háng shāng) is a separable verb (离合词) meaning 'to do business as an itinerant trader' — traveling from place to place to sell goods, as opposed to a fixed shopkeeper (坐商). The syllables 行 and 商 can split when inserting measure words or other elements: 行过两次商 ('did itinerant business twice'). It can also be used as a noun referring to the trader themselves.
