Definition
血肉 literally means 'flesh and blood' (the physical tissue of a living body), but in Chinese it is often used figuratively to describe an inseparable relationship (血肉相连 'flesh-and-blood connection') or to refer to the human body itself, especially in contrast to non-physical things (血肉之躯 'body of flesh and blood'). The figurative uses are more common in formal and literary contexts.
