薏 is a bound morpheme that never appears alone in modern Chinese. You will only encounter it as part of the compound word 薏米 (yì mǐ, 'pearl barley' or 'coix seed'), a grain used in soups and teas, and the botanical term 薏苡 (yì yǐ, 'Job's tears'). When you see 薏 in a grocery or menu context, it almost always refers to 薏米.
