Definition
营救 (yíngjiù) means 'to rescue' and emphasizes a planned, organized effort to save people from danger, often involving a team or operation. It is more formal and focused on the rescue process than 救 (jiù), which is the general, everyday word for 'save/rescue'. Compared to 抢救 (qiǎngjiù, emergency rescue) or 拯救 (zhěngjiù, rescue from a crisis), 营救 is broader, covering both urgent and non-urgent rescue missions.
