Definition
良 (liáng) is a literary adverb found only in fixed phrases before adjectives like 多, 久, and 苦, meaning 'very'. Unlike the everyday adverbs 很 and 太, which work freely in speech and writing, 良 is restricted to formal, classical expressions. It is even narrower than the literary adverb 万分 (wàn fēn).
