舱 (cāng) refers to an enclosed compartment on a ship or airplane, such as a passenger cabin or cargo hold. It often forms compounds like 机舱 (jīcāng, airplane cabin) and 货舱 (huòcāng, cargo hold). Unlike 车厢 (chēxiāng, train carriage), 舱 is used only for sea or air vessels.
