自然而然 (zì rán ér rán) is a set phrase meaning 'naturally, as a matter of course' — it describes an outcome that happens by itself as a logical result of circumstances, without deliberate effort. It is stronger and more literary than 自然 (zì rán 'naturally, of course'), which can also mean 'nature' or 'unaffected'. Unlike 当然 (dāng rán 'of course'), which expresses certainty or agreement, 自然而然 emphasizes a spontaneous, inevitable process.
